Louisa Yu Zhang

Louisa Yu Zhang is a Senior Staff Data Scientist (Tech Lead) at IDEXX since June 2021, specializing in the development of scalable AI models, natural language processing, and large language models to analyze healthcare data, achieving successful deployment of AI solutions in 60,000 veterinary clinics across the US and Canada. Prior to IDEXX, Louisa worked as a Data Scientist and Software Engineer at the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Pittsburgh from February 2016 to May 2021, where a cloud-based computable phenotype platform was architected and advanced deep-learning models for intraoperative stroke detection were developed. Louisa is currently pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Healthcare Informatics at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, with a strong educational background that includes a Master of Science in Computer and Information Sciences and certifications in Biomedical Informatics from the University of Pittsburgh, alongside Bachelor's degrees in Management Information Systems and Business/Commerce.
