Mark Wang

Mark Wang is an accomplished leader in the field of engineering and research and development, currently serving as Vice President and Head of Sequencing Platforms R&D at Illumina since 2005. Wang has progressed through various leadership roles at Illumina, including Vice President of Engineering R&D and Senior Director of Engineering. Prior experience includes serving as Manager of Engineering at Ziva, an early-stage startup focused on secure telecommunications networks, and as Manager of Optical Systems at Genoptix, where initial commercialization efforts in cancer diagnostics were spearheaded. Earlier, Wang contributed as a Post Doctoral Researcher at the University of California, San Diego, following the completion of a PhD in Electrical Engineering. Wang earned a BS in Physics from Stanford University.
