Nikki Kaplan

Director Of Education at Imagination Stage

Nikki Kaplan is an experienced educator and theatre professional, currently serving as the Director of Education at Imagination Stage, Inc. since 2006, where responsibilities include program coordination, faculty hiring and training, budget oversight, and artistic direction. In addition, Nikki serves as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor at American University, teaching Introduction to Acting. Previous roles include Teaching Artist, Director, and Choreographer at TADA! Youth, and multiple positions at Playgroup Theatre and P.S. 154, focusing on various elements of theatre and improvisation. Nikki's early career included acting with Bridgework Theatre Company and recreation leadership in Tempe and Alameda, complemented by a Master's degree in Educational Theatre from New York University and a Bachelor's degree in Theatre/Acting from Arizona State University.

Imagination Stage is the largest and most respected multi-disciplinary theatre arts organization for young people in the Mid-Atlantic region. We offer a year-round season of professional shows (adult actors performing for families and classes), after-school programs and summer camps for ages 1-18, and arts-integration professional development training for teachers, students, schools, and families. All of our programs are informed by our core belief in making the arts inclusive and accessible to all children, regardless of their physical, cognitive, or financial status.
