Karla Garcia Hernandez has a diverse work experience spanning multiple organizations and roles. Beginning in 2018, they worked as a Department Assistant at the Office of Multicultural Affairs at Willamette University. Following that, they worked as a Client Coordinator at Immigration Counseling Service until mid-2022. Currently, Karla holds the position of Legal Assistant at the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization. Their responsibilities in this role include providing legal support and assistance. Karla's work experience demonstrates their commitment to assisting and advocating for marginalized communities, particularly in the legal and social services fields.

The Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO) is a non-profit organization established in 1974 to serve immigrants and refugees in Portland, Oregon. Since its founding, IRCO has served more than 55,000 people through provision of programs and services that meet needs related to training and employment, health and aging, English language learning, naturalization and adjustment, community development, early childhood, parenting and youth development, education and interpretation and translation.
