Marwan Khater has worked in the field of device development since 2000. Marwan started their career at IBM as a Senior Research Engineer/Scientist at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, then moved on to become an Advisory Research Engineer/Scientist, followed by an Advisory Development Engineer/Scientist and a Staff Development Engineer/Scientist at the IBM Microelectronics Division (SRDC). In 2017, they joined Skorpios Technologies, Inc. as a Senior Principal Engineer, where they were responsible for process development, integration, and electro-optical wafer-scale and chip-level testing of heterogeneously integrated III-V photonic devices (e.g. lasers, modulators, and photodetectors) on Silicon Photonics platform technologies. Most recently, in 2019, Marwan joined INanoBio as Senior Director and Director of Device Development.
Marwan Khater received their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Microelectronics) from The University of Texas at Dallas in 2000. Prior to that, they obtained their Master of Science (M.S.) in Physics (Solid State Physics) and Computer Science from Texas State University in 1994. Marwan completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Physics (Solid State Physics) from Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University in 1992.
