Ajeet Kumar

Ajeet Kumar currently holds the position of Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and has progressed through ranks as Assistant Professor and Associate Professor since September 2012. Ajeet Kumar served as a Visiting Professor at Cornell University from August 2024 to July 2025 and worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Minnesota from June 2010 to May 2012, focusing on atomistic modeling of materials and computational materials science. Ajeet Kumar began the professional journey as a Summer Trainee at the Gas Turbine Research Establishment, DRDO, in May 2005, specifically concentrating on the damping of turbine blade vibration. Ajeet Kumar earned a PhD in Theoretical & Applied Mechanics from Cornell University between 2006 and 2010 and holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (2002-2006), and a higher secondary degree from Sainik School Tilaiya (1995-2002).
