Sara Mahmood currently serves as the Acting Chief of Research & Development and a member of the Generative AI Research Committee at the Information & eGovernment Authority, focusing on generative AI research and its applications for governmental services in Bahrain. With a background in innovation and emerging technologies, Sara has held roles including Head of Innovation and Emerging Technologies and Senior Business Process Re-engineer, providing consultancy for process improvement and aligning technological solutions with strategic objectives. Additionally, Sara oversees technical services at Volar World, where responsibilities include managing technical systems and infrastructure. Educational qualifications include a Master's in Business Administration from the University College of Bahrain and a Bachelor's in Information & Communications Technology from Bahrain Polytechnic, complemented by International Baccalaureate and IGCSE credentials.

Information & eGovernment Authority
Promulgated by the Royal Decree No. 69 in October 2015, both the eGovernment Authority and the Central Informatics Organization were merged into the ‘Information & eGovernment Authority’ (iGA). Reporting to the Ministerial Cabinet, the authority’s initiatives are in line with the strategies, plans and programs set by the Ministerial Committee for Information Technology and Communication (MCICT) - chaired by H.E. Minister of Interior Gen. Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa Minister of Interior. Currently, iGA is working on establishing newly unified vision, strategy, plans and objectives to serve every citizen, resident and business in Bahrain.
