Ping-Lin Chang began their work experience in 2010 as a Research Assistant at Academia Sinica in Taiwan. In 2012, they completed an internship at Qualcomm. Ping-Lin then pursued their PhD at Imperial College London from 2010 to 2014. Following this, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at University College London from 2014 to 2015. In 2014, Ping-Lin co-founded Umbo Computer Vision and served as the CTO until 2020. In 2020, they became the Co-Founder and CEO of Instill AI.

Ping-Lin Chang completed a BSc in Engineering Science from National Cheng Kung University, spanning from 2003 to 2007. They then pursued an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Southampton, during the academic year of 2009 to 2010. Following this, Ping-Lin Chang attended Imperial College London from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a PhD in Computer Science.
