Institute of Designers in Ireland
John Waid has been a lecturer and artist educator at the National College of Art and Design since September 1986, where a diverse range of work is created, supported by a strong educational philosophy aimed at encouraging first-year students to approach creativity from a new perspective. Earlier work experience includes a brief stint as a Shelf Product Hunter at Crazy Prices Supermarket in 1912 and a role as a grave digger at Carnmoney Cemetery in 1911, humorously reflecting on the challenges of that position. John Waid holds a Pb (hons) degree in potatoes, lead, and carpet from The Potato Institute, which was attended from 1906 to 1909.
