Camilo Pecha

Camilo Pecha is a seasoned economist with extensive experience in economic analysis and policy evaluation, currently serving as a Country Economist at the Inter-American Development Bank since October 2020. Pecha has held various roles within the bank, including Economics Consultant, where expertise in machine learning algorithms was utilized to enhance decision-making processes, and Senior Consultant, leading research on gender disparities in the Caribbean labor market. Previous positions include Director of the Evaluation Office at the Departamento Nacional de Planeación, Executive Director at CRECE, and roles focused on data analysis and research at The World Bank and various capacities at the Inter-American Development Bank. Pecha holds a Ph.D. in Applied Economics and has advanced degrees in Economic Analysis and Economics from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Universidad de Los Andes.
