Katie Race Brin

Katie Race Brin currently serves as the Chief Data Privacy Officer at The World Bank, a position held since September 2023. Prior to this role, Katie was the Chief Privacy Officer at 2U from February 2018 to July 2023 and served as Chief Privacy Officer at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) from July 2007 to February 2018, where Katie received the FTC’s Award for Outstanding Service. Additional experience includes roles as Senior Advisor to the Director at the Bureau of Consumer Protection and Senior Staff Attorney at the Division of Privacy & Identity Protection for WilmerHale, as well as serving as an Associate in the Litigation Group. Early career highlights include clerking for the Honorable William G. Bassler at the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Honorable Thomas C. Platt at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Katie holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) with a Certificate in Law & Technology from the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Michigan.
