Xiaohui Hou

Xiaohui Hou currently serves as a Senior Economist at The World Bank, a position held since 2024. Prior to this role, Xiaohui worked as the Deputy Head at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (ESCAP) from March 2023 to November 2023 and was a Senior Economist at The World Bank from September 2006 to March 2023. Earlier experience includes serving as a Graduate Student Instructor at the University of California, Berkeley from September 2002 to May 2006 and as an Assistant Manager at 复新实业 from September 1998 to August 1999. Xiaohui’s academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Health Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master in Health Policy and Administration from Washington State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Beijing University. Education was initiated at Taiyuan 5th High School.
