Jiarui David Zhang

Jiarui David Zhang is a seasoned mechanical design engineer with extensive experience in the tech industry. Currently serving as a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer at Intuitive since April 2025, Zhang previously held the position of Sr. Product Design Engineer at Mill from June 2022 to January 2025. Prior roles include Mechanical Design Engineer for camera hardware at Apple (September 2017 - June 2022) and Mechanical Engineer at Meta Company (May 2016 - September 2017). Earlier experience at Apple includes a role as Product Design Engineer for Mac (September 2014 - August 2015) and as a Mechanical Engineer at Western Digital (June 2014 - August 2014). Zhang's career began with an Assistant Language Teacher role in the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program(me) and a Mechanical Engineering Internship focused on renewable energy research at Sandia National Laboratories in 2011. Academically, Zhang holds a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University (2013 - 2016) and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics from the University of Vermont (2008 - 2012).
