Mirza Sadaqat Huda has extensive work experience in the field of energy, climate change, and sustainable development. Mirza Sadaqat currently works as a Lead Researcher (Energy/Climate) at ISEAS - Yusof Ishak Institute, focusing on decarbonization, energy transition, and regional environmental cooperation in Southeast Asia. Prior to this, they were a Fellow at Energy Peace Partners and a Senior Policy Researcher at Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, where they worked on policy responses to environmental challenges and climate change.
Mirza has also held positions as an Energy Security Expert at OSCE, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at OSCE Academy in Bishkek, and an Asia EDGE Fellow at The National Bureau of Asian Research. In these roles, they conducted research on energy, climate change, and geopolitics, while also undertaking administrative tasks.
Additionally, Mirza has worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University, where they evaluated the impact of transnational energy and transport infrastructure on Asian integration. Mirza Sadaqat was also a Research Analyst at The University of Queensland, managing research projects on the social, political, and environmental impacts of resource extraction. Furthermore, they served as a Teaching Fellow at Griffith University and a Visiting Fellow at ICIMOD.

Mirza Sadaqat Huda earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in International Relations and Affairs from The University of Queensland between 2013 and 2017. Prior to that, they completed their Master's degree in International Relations and National Security Studies at Macquarie University from 2009 to 2011. Their education journey began with a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) from the University of Canberra from 2003 to 2006.

ISEAS - Yusof Ishak Institute (formerly Institute of Southeast Asian Studies) is dedicated to the study of socio-political, security, and economic trends and developments in Southeast Asia and its wider geostrategic and economic environment. The Institute aims to stimulate research and debate within scholarly circles, enhance public awareness of the region, and facilitate the search for viable solutions to the varied problems confronting the region. It also strives to nurture a community of scholars interested in the region and to engage in research on the multi-faceted dimensions and issues of stability and security, economic development, and political, social, and cultural change. The Institute conducts a range of research programmes; holds conferences, workshops, lectures, and seminars; publishes briefs, research journals, and books; and provides a range of research support facilities, including a large library collection.
