Nick Penniman is a prominent figure in the field of political reform. Nick founded Issue One in 2011 and served as the CEO. Prior to this, they co-founded the Huffington Post Investigative Fund in 2009 and held the position of Executive Director. Nick also founded and served as the Executive Director of The American News Project from 2007 to 2009. Nick has held various editorial roles in esteemed organizations, including The Washington Monthly, TomPaine.com, and The American Prospect. Nick's career began as the Executive Director of the Alliance for Democracy in 1998 and they have had editorial roles in The Lincoln Journal and the Missouri Historical Society. Furthermore, they authored the influential book "Nation On the Take: How Big Money Corrupts Our Democracy" in 2016.
