Michael Knight is the WWF Transboundary Leader for the Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA) in Namibia, a role held since September 2018, responsible for coordinating the efforts of the WWF offices in Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. With extensive experience in conservation management, Knight has served as the Chair of the IUCN African Rhino Specialist Group since 2011 and held various leadership positions, including General Manager of Park Planning & Development at South African National Parks and Chairman of the SADC Rhino Management Group from 2006 to 2018. Knight's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Wildlife Biology, an M.Sc. in Mammalogy, and a B.Sc. degree from the University of Cape Town, complemented by significant contributions to conservation science at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University and previous management of scientific services within SANParks.
