Kurt Bastian

Kurt Bastian has extensive work experience in the renewable energy and clean technology industries. Kurt began their career at Nuvera Fuel Cells in 2005, where they completed two internships while studying at Wentworth. After graduating, they continued working at Nuvera as a Reliability Engineer. In this role, they were involved in test stand development for fuel cell and hydrogen reformer systems. Kurt then joined Wood Group - clean energy in 2011 as a Senior Renewable Energy Consultant. In this position, they provided due diligence reviews of wind farms and solar power plants to financiers, focusing on technical, contractual, and logistical aspects of project development. Kurt also conducted commissioning inspections and power performance verifications of solar PV plants. In 2017, Kurt joined K2 Management as a Senior Consultant, where they currently work.

Kurt Bastian has a diverse education history. Kurt obtained their Master of Science degree in Energy Systems from FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electromechanical Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology from 2003 to 2007. Before pursuing their bachelor's degree, Kurt Bastian attended NHTI, Concord's Community College, where they obtained two Associate of Science degrees - one in Electrical Engineering Technology and the other in Architectural Engineering Technology - from 2001 to 2003. Additionally, they earned another Associate of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and Manufacturing Engineering Technology from the same institution between 1999 and 2001.

In terms of certifications, Kurt Bastian has successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam administered by NCEES in April 2006. Kurt has also completed the Wind turbine competent climber / rescuer certification from ENSA North America Inc., in accordance with ANSI Z490.1, in August 2016.
