Melinda Long

Melinda Long has extensive experience in the educational and retail sectors. Currently serving as a School Counselor at Kalamazoo Public Schools since June 2013, Melinda has also held positions as Child Accounting Secretary and Paraprofessional, where key responsibilities included classroom management and instructional material preparation. Prior to this, Melinda worked as a Substitute Teacher with Professional Education Services Group and completed an internship in secondary education at Western Mic. Early career experience includes roles as a Sales Specialist at JCPenney and Retail Store Manager/Training Manager at Whitehall Jewellers, where responsibilities encompassed customer service, inventory control, and financial analysis. Melinda holds a Bachelor's of Science in Secondary Education from Western Michigan University and an Associates in Business Management from Kellogg Community College.
