David Adams

David Adams has extensive legal experience, currently serving as General Counsel and Senior Vice President for Legal, Regulatory, and Government Affairs at Kaplan since November 2008. Prior roles at Kaplan include Deputy General Counsel and Associate General Counsel. Before joining Kaplan, David worked at the Illinois Attorney General's Office as Assistant Chief of Special Litigation, where significant achievement included winning the 2007 Public Justice Foundation National Trial Lawyer of the Year award. Earlier in the career, David was a Senior Associate at Canel, Davis and King, focusing on Commercial and Corporate Litigation, and an Associate at Schiff Hardin LLP, specializing in Commercial, Corporate, and Construction Litigation. David's legal journey began as a Legal Intern/Clerk at the U.S. Court of Appeals Sixth Circuit. Academic credentials include a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Michigan State University.
