Mohd Mustakim Mustafa has a strong and extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Mohd Mustakim started their career as an Associate at XYBase MSC Sdn Bhd in 2000 before moving on to become an Application Development Manager at KaryaNet Sdn Bhd in 2003. In 2005, they worked as a Technical Manager at Besimas Sdn Bhd and then became a Senior System Analyst at HeiTech Padu Berhad in 2006.
In 2009, Mohd Mustakim joined Khazanah Nasional Berhad as an Associate Vice President, holding various roles within the company including VP, AVP, and VP. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a VP, and from 2013 to 2015, they held the position of VP. Mohd Mustakim then took on the role of Vice President from 2015 to 2019. During their tenure at Khazanah Nasional Berhad, they also served as the Head of Policy & Compliance, responsible for improving ICT policy, processes, and procedures. Mohd Mustakim was also the Service Management Representative for ISO 20000 and ran the compliance program for ICT, including ICT security.
In 2019, Mohd Mustakim continued their tenure as Vice President at Khazanah Nasional Berhad, taking on the responsibility of leading the policy and compliance department. Except for one share owned by the Federal Lands Commissioner, all the share capital of Khazanah is owned by the Minister of Finance Incorporated, a body pursuant to the Ministry of Finance (Incorporation) Act 1957.
