Daniel Murphy

Daniel Murphy, IV, PE, currently serves as a Transportation Engineer at Kimley-Horn, specializing in transportation planning and traffic operations with expertise in design projects that emphasize ADA compliance, pedestrian enhancements, illumination, bike lanes, intersection improvements, and traffic signal design and timing. Prior experience includes positions as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at The University of Iowa's Scherer Lab, where Daniel contributed to the 'Get The Lead Out' initiative, and as an Engineering Intern at MSA Professional Services, gaining skills in mapping projects and permitting processes. Early roles included Pathways Engineering Intern at the National Park Service, Data/Research Intern at Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, and Civil/Transportation Engineering Intern at the Iowa Department of Transportation, all of which provided valuable experience in civil and environmental engineering practices. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a focus in Civil/Environmental Engineering from the University of Iowa.
