Joia Colbert

Joia Colbert is an experienced mathematics educator currently serving as a Mathematics Teacher at KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools since July 2019. Previously, Joia contributed to the KIPP Foundation as a Math Assessment Redesign Team Member from January 2020 to March 2022, focusing on the development of curriculum-embedded interim assessments for the AP for All initiative. Prior teaching experience includes a role as a Mathematics Teacher with the Muscogee County School District from August 2016 to May 2019. Joia's career began as a Customer Care Representative for BCBSGA in 2015, followed by various positions in youth programming at Open Door Community House, Inc. from May 2011 to August 2015. Joia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Columbus State University, earned between 2009 and 2014.
