Derek Erion

Derek Erion has worked in the field of biopharmaceuticals for over 10 years. Derek is currently Vice President and Senior Director at Korro Bio, Inc., a position they have held since 2021. Prior to that, they were Director, Program Leader & Liver Research Lead and Associate Scientific Director at Takeda from 2015-2021. Before that, they were Principal Scientist and Senior Scientist at Pfizer from 2010-2015. During their time at Pfizer, they were responsible for leading a collaborative effort in the design and execution of a strategy against NAFLD/NASH/fibrosis, as well as being a project leader focused on delivering the development of novel chemical entities and mechanisms of action for testing in clinical trials and a biology point of contact interested in understanding the mechanism of action of multiple novel entities for the treatment of metabolic diseases.

Derek Erion completed a BS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Chemistry from UC Irvine and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cellular & Molecular Physiology from Yale University.
