Mathew Boomsma

Mathew Boomsma (CEnvP SC) has extensive experience in environmental management and sustainability, currently serving as Senior Environment and Sustainability Manager at Laing O'Rourke since May 2017, where involvement includes the Suburban Rail Loop IW&EW project. Previously, Mathew held various roles within Laing O'Rourke, including Environment Manager (South) and Contamination Lead, as well as Environment Manager for the SEPA Hallam project. Prior to this, Mathew was Director at Groundworks Environmental, overseeing all aspects of the consultancy, and held key positions at OTEK Australia, including Operations Manager and Project Manager, focusing on contaminated site assessment and remediation. Beginning a career as a Research Scientist at the Department of Primary Industries Victoria, Mathew engaged in research on nutrient and metals cycling related to sustainable waste reuse.
