Christopher Owens

Christopher Owens has a diverse work experience spanning several years. Christopher started their career as a Developer at Avis Rent a Car in 1984 before moving to Fisher and Paykel Limited, where they developed software solutions using VAX11 Basic and indexed files. Christopher then transitioned to Logicmode Ltd, where they worked as a Director from 1991 to 2000.

In 2000, Christopher joined Seymour Distribution as a Senior Analyst/Programmer, responsible for leading systems development and managing the development team. During their tenure, they worked on smart client back office systems and implemented Agile methodologies. Christopher also conducted research and development for new technologies like SharePoint.

After leaving Seymour Distribution in 2014, Christopher worked as a Contract Solutions Architect at Realtime Management Ltd for a short engagement project in the oil and lubricants sector. Christopher assessed the client's existing infrastructure and systems and produced technical solution sections for the engagement paper.

In the same year, Christopher joined Landsec as a Principal Analyst Programmer, where they were involved in the full systems life cycle and responsible for designing, coding, unit testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting application software. Christopher then transitioned to the role of Development Lead, coordinating application development activities and introducing Agile analysis and development methodologies.

Currently, Christopher is working at Landsec as a Solutions Architect, and soon they will be taking on the role of Lead Data Architect from October 2022.

Christopher Owens has a degree in NZCDP from Auckland University of Technology, where they studied Information Technology and Business Studies. Prior to attending university, they also attended Pakuranga College. In addition to their formal education, Owens has obtained certifications such as TOGAF Certification from The Open Group in February 2022 and Certified Scrum Master certification from Scrum Alliance in August 2014.
