Sebastien Lavoie started their work experience in 2000 as an Economist at the Bank of Canada, where they worked until 2003. In 2004, they briefly worked as an Economist at Central 1 Credit Union. From 2005 to 2006, they worked as an Economist at TD. In 2006, they joined Laurentian Bank Securities as the Chief Economist, a position they currently hold. In 2020, they also began working as a Tennis Data Analyst at Data Driven Sports Analytics.

Sebastien Lavoie obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Economics from Université Laval. Sebastien completed their studies in this field from 1996 to 2000.
