Rebecca Swertfeger

Rebecca Swertfeger is a skilled Laser Engineer at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory since July 2018, with previous experience as an Optical Engineer student researcher at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology from January 2016 to May 2018, where design and testing of integrated tapered active modulators for laser transmitter PICs were conducted. A significant role as a SHERLOC Optical Engineer for the Mars 2020 rover was completed at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in summer 2017. Earlier experience includes working as a Particle Physics Computational Analyst at the University of Cincinnati, focusing on the Ξb0 particle and data analysis from the LHCb experiment at CERN. Academic credentials include a Bachelor’s Degree in Laser and Optical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and a current pursuit of a PhD in Optics/Optical Sciences at the University of Rochester.
