Jim Maxwell

Jim Maxwell currently serves as the Western Virginia Group President at Lee Enterprises since January 2023. Previously, Jim held the role of Regional Publisher at Berkshire Hathaway Media from July 2012 to March 2020, overseeing notable publications such as the Bristol Herald Courier, while also serving on the Board of the Virginia Press Association. Jim's extensive experience includes positions as Regional Publisher at Media General and Vice President of New Mexico Newspapers at the Texas-New Mexico Newspaper Partnership. Additional roles include Vice President of Operations/Associate Publisher at Rust Communications, President and Publisher at Pocono Mountains Media Group, Corporate Advertising Director at Dow Jones, and Director of Sales and Marketing at Medford Mail Tribune/Ashland Daily Tidings. Jim began a career in advertising management in the mid-1990s and holds degrees in Secondary Education/Business from Southern Oregon University and a brief educational stint at California State University, Chico.
