Senior Human Resources Advisor
Position Description
Airedale Property Trust (APT) is a property investment, management and development trust affiliated with the Methodist Church (MMN) of New Zealand. Together, the Three Trusts (MMN, APT and Lifewise) hold and manage directly a portfolio of social housing, retirement villages, retail and residential properties.
The purpose of this position is to provide quality and effective human resources advice, coaching and support in the areas of employment relations, workforce planning, performance management and training and development, in line with The Three Trusts policies and values, statutory requirements and best HR practice, to meet the needs of internal customers and stakeholders.
Your work will include building management capability in HR practice to minimise employment relations risk, prioritise workforce requirements and proactively, and effectively, address people issues.
Project work will be undertaken in line with the HR Plan and strategy of the organisation as directed by the General Manager Human Resources.
The Airedale Property Trust, provides Shared Services across Airedale Property Trust, The Lifewise Trust and Methodist Mission Northern.

KEY RESULT AREAS
The position of the Senior Human Resources Advisor encompasses the following major functions of Key Result Areas:
· Provide effective, efficient and professional Human Resources support, advice and coaching to Managers across the Three Trusts to minimise employment relations risks and proactively address people issues
· Assist and support the delivery of HR strategy, planning, projects and orientations
· Ensure compliance with health and safety and the active development and promotion of a healthy work environment
· Management of Change
· Organisational Responsibilities

Position holder is accountable for:
Key Result Area 1: Provide effective, efficient and professional Human Resources support, advice and coaching to Managers across the Three Trusts to minimise employment relations risks and proactively address people issues

· This may include, but not limited to, HR strategy and planning, corporate and service orientations and specific HR projects
Key Result Area 3: Ensure compliance with health and safety and the active development and promotion of a healthy work environment
· Promotes a culture where health and safety is seen as integral to success through planning, delivery, monitoring and review of health and safety processes.

· Ensure effective management of change processes are implemented and contribute to the building of The Three Trusts organisational culture

· Undertakes all organisational and administrative tasks/responsibilities required.

· Knowledge of New Zealand Employment Legislation, process and practices and experience of its application in an HR or general management environment
· A specialist Diploma at ‘Under Graduate’ level in Human Resources or a related field
· At least 5 years’ experience in applying human resource policy and processes to practice. This experience should include experience of providing advice to managers, dealing with matters involving payroll and interpreting employment agreements
· Employment Relations experience including disciplinary processes and employee grievances.
· Generalist knowledge of Human Resource and People Management
