Diane Foley, M.D. has a diverse range of work experiences in the medical and public health sectors. From 2021 to the present, they serve as the Chief Medical Officer - Public Health for LTS. Prior to this, from 2018 to 2021, they worked at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), first as the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Health, providing executive level advice and support to the Assistant Secretary for Health. Later, they served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Population Affairs, where they advised on reproductive and adolescent health topics and managed programs with a budget of over $400 million annually.
Before their time at HHS, Diane Foley held the position of Director of Medical Ministries at Global Partners of the Wesleyan Church from 2012 to 2018. In this role, they coordinated medical care for missionaries serving in 92 countries worldwide and oversaw mission hospitals in Sierra Leone, Zambia, and Haiti.
Throughout their career, Diane Foley has also worked as a Pediatrician, having been board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, from 1987 to 2018. Additionally, they held leadership positions in non-profit organizations. Diane served as the President/CEO of Life Network from 2013 to 2017, where they directed an organization providing support for women and men facing unintended pregnancies. At Education for a Lifetime from 2005 to 2013, they were the Director of a community-based sex education program, responsible for grant management, curriculum and program development, and instructor training.
Overall, Diane Foley, M.D. has extensive experience in public health leadership, medical care, global medical outreach, and non-profit management.
Dr. Diane Foley obtained their Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Medicine/Pre-Medical Studies from Indiana Wesleyan University, where they studied from 1976 to 1980. Diane then pursued their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, completing their studies from 1980 to 1984. In 1987, they became a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and in 1989, they achieved Board Certification from the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP).
