Mr Nilesh Deshbandhu Gupta serves as Lupin’s managing director, a role he has held since 2013. He has played a significant role in Lupin’s growth as a research and development powerhouse, and has been the key driver of the company’s expanding manufacturing operations. His strategic vision has also led Lupin’s emergence as a global specialty player and an upcoming complex generics leader. A chemical engineering graduate from the University Department of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, Mr Gupta graduated with honours from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where he specialised in healthcare, strategic management and finance. He has been bestowed with the Entrepreneur of the Year honour at the Forbes India Leadership Awards in 2016, and the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2015.
