Yilun Wang, PhD

Yilun Wang, PhD has worked in various roles in the fields of data science, machine learning and technology since 2012. In 2012, they began working as an Associate Professor at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, where they secured funding and managed a research team. In 2016, they were appointed as the Chief Technology Officer at Princetechs, a FinTech Company with around 100 employees, which was selected into Microsoft Accelerator, Beijing and among top 36 Technology Enterprises in Zhongguancun. From 2018-2022, they worked at American Family Insurance as a Data Scientist and Machine Learning Scientist. Currently, they are a Senior Data Scientist at Machinify, Inc., where they are working on the Fintech aspect of healthcare, specifically payment integrity such as detecting fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA) in medical bills via Rule-based and Data Mining based methods.

Yilun Wang obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Computational and Applied Mathematics from Rice University. Yilun also holds a Google Cloud Certified Professional Data Engineer certification from Google, obtained in April 2021. In addition, they have obtained certificates from Coursera Course Certificates in 2016 for Machine Learning, Graph Analytics for Big Data, Hadoop Platform and Application Framework, Introduction to Big Data, Introduction to Big Data Analytics, and Machine Learning With Big Data.
