Lala Rukh

Researcher at MaREI

Lala Rukh is a doctoral researcher at MaREI, University of Galway, focused on operational energy demand, internal building conditions, and retrofitting technologies. In addition to research, Lala serves as a Climate Ambassador and Youth Advisory Panel Member for An Taisce, and is actively involved as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Tutor at the University of Galway. Lala holds a leadership position as the Founder and Director of Climate Action Pakistan, enhancing climate awareness through initiatives and educational programs. Other roles include being a Strategic Advisor for the MASS-Mehran Architecture Students' Society, a Future Energy Leader with the World Energy Council, and a New Futures Fellow at Planet Reimagined. With a strong academic background, Lala has pursued degrees in Engineering, Marine Plastics Abatement, and Energy Systems Engineering from notable institutions.

MaREI is the marine and renewable energy research, development and innovation Centre supported by Science Foundation Ireland. It combines the expertise of a wide range of research groups and industry partners, with the shared mission of solving the main scientific, technical and socio-economic challenges across the marine and renewable energysectors. MaREI is coordinated by the Environmental Research Institute (ERI) at University College Cork and has over 200 researchers working across 6 academic institutions collaborating with over 45 industry partners.
