Farid Qamar

Farid Qamar, Ph.D., is a Senior Data Scientist at Mathematica since September 2023 and has extensive experience in academia and project management. Prior roles include Research Scientist and Engineer at the University of Delaware, where Farid served as a University Instructor and a Graduate Student Government Senator. Farid's academic contributions include teaching foundational courses in data science and machine learning, as well as leading projects at the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry and the Government of Ontario. Farid completed a Ph.D. in Environmental and Civil Engineering and Public Policy, along with an MS in Data Science from the University of Delaware, and holds advanced degrees in Astronomy and Astrophysics from Queen's University. Farid's foundational education was completed at McMaster University and United World College Costa Rica, earning honors in Physics with a specialization in Astrophysics.
