Essam Hassan is an experienced finance professional currently serving as the Group CFO at Maxim Investment Group since June 2021. Prior to this role, Essam held the position of CFO at Alibaba Group from June 2019 to May 2021. Essam's career includes significant responsibilities as Financial Controller and Projects Manager at Virgin Megastore MENA from September 2011 to June 2019, and as Financial Controller at Azadea Group from October 2005 to August 2011. Earlier in the career, Essam worked as Finance Manager at Sony Music Entertainment between February 2003 and August 2005. Essam holds dual Master’s degrees in Banking, Corporate, Finance, and Securities Law from The American University in Cairo and Cairo University, pursued from 1992 to 1996.
