Gerardo Carrillo is an experienced Assistant Engineer at MBK Engineers, specializing in data analysis, quality control, and science communication for flood control and water supply engineering projects since September 2021. Carrillo has been a researcher at Cornell University's DeFrees Hydraulics Laboratory and Cornell Civil & Environmental Engineering since July 2018, and previously served as a Post-Baccalaureate Researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where designing extreme condition flow experiments in a Vertical Shock Tube was a key responsibility. Earlier experiences include research on vegetation morphology effects at the Hydro-Systems Laboratory, administrative support for minority STEM initiatives at the Department of Math and Physical Sciences, and contributions to experimental research on particle kinematics in turbulence at the Environmental Fluid Mechanics and Hydrology Lab.
