Mr. Masterson was born and raised in New York where he received a Jesuit education. Mr. Masterson has lived in the Chicago area since 1964 except for his time serving in the Marine Corps that included two tours in Vietnam. Upon returning to Chicago, he joined McDonald’s Corporation in Oak Brook where he worked for 14 years. Upon leaving McDonald’s Corporation, he had a successful 25 year career in the graphic arts business.
He and his wife Cathy have been married for nearly 50 years. They have 3 children and 5 grandchildren who reside in the Chicagoland area. Since retiring in 2010, he splits his time between mentoring people in the program, volunteering at Loyola University Medical Center and attending many grandchildren events and activities. Mr. Masterson first was introduced to Fr. Mac back in the mid 80’s through his mentor Jack Whalen.

Haymarket Center
The mission of Haymarket Center is to aid people with substance use disorders in their recovery by providing comprehensive behavioral health solutions. Haymarket goes beyond treatment of addiction – from detoxification, to recovery, to finding a home, learning a job skill and gaining employment. Haymarket Center’s goal is to provide its clients with opportunities enabling them to lead productive and creative lifestyles without drugs.
