Marwan Elya

Marwan Elya currently serves as Vice Chief of Staff at McLeod Health and as Director of Medical Student Affairs at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine's Florence Campus, both positions starting in January 2024. Since October 2013, Marwan has held multiple leadership roles at McLeod Regional Medical Center of Pee Dee Inc., including Medical Director of the McLeod Sleep Clinic, where Marwan established a clinic staffed by three physicians and managed a 10-bed sleep lab. Additionally, Marwan leads the Mcleod Critical Care Specialists, overseeing a team of 20 physicians and advanced practice providers managing 75 critical care beds. Further responsibilities include directing the Clinical Effectiveness Department to spearhead Quality Initiatives and Protocol development and chairing the Quality Operations Committee. Marwan Elya earned a degree in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center between 2005 and 2008 and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Boston University.
