Laura Wilson-Slocum, MS, LPC has a extensive work experience in the mental health field. Laura currently serves as the Chief of Staff for the Executive Vice President of Justice and Health at Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute. Laura Wilson-Slocum, MS, LPC completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Loyola University New Orleans. Laura then pursued a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology at Our Lady of the Lake University from 2002 to 2004. Following their education, Laura obtained the certification of Licensed Professional Counselor from the Behavioral Health Executive Council--Texas in November 2006. Additionally, they hold a certification as a Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. The Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute provides high quality, nonpartisan and objective policy research and development to improve mental health services in Texas. It’s about leveraging our resources statewide at a grassroots level – sharing best practices, making resources available, accessing information, building protocol – and then using that information to help those who need it most.
