Sabera Hossain is a dedicated professional with diverse experience in research, healthcare, and community outreach. Currently serving as a Research Assistant in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Stony Brook University since September 2019, Sabera conducts experiments to design innovative scaffolds for tissue regeneration and has contributed methods for developing 3-D skin graft models, earning the Leo and Mickey Sreenby Researcher Award. In addition to these research roles, Sabera has worked as an Emergency Medical Technician and a Medical Assistant, and has been involved with Médecins Sans Frontières as the President of the Student Chapter, where efforts include fundraising and organizing educational events. Past roles include serving as a Crisis Counselor at Crisis Text Line and facilitating conversations among international students through Global Minds Alliance. Sabera has also co-created the Humans of East Meadow project, showcasing community stories, all while pursuing a degree in Globalization/International Relations from Stony Brook University.
