Zeve Cohen

Zeve Cohen has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Starting in 2018, Zeve worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Pittsburgh's Ferrous Metallurgy Laboratory, conducting collaborative research on advanced high strength steels and designing components for the lab's induction heat treatment machine.

In 2019, Zeve gained experience as a Project Engineering Intern at LAND-TECH ENTERPRISES, INC., where they were entrusted with logistical and organizational decisions for a major summer construction project. They effectively communicated with team members to ensure operational transparency and timely project completion.

During the same year, Zeve also worked at Pittsburgh SOAR, participating in the design, fabrication, and assembly of a high-powered rocket for the NASA Student Launch competition. They supervised the design of the rocket's airbrake system.

In 2020, Zeve joined the Pitt Innovation, Product Design, and Entrepreneurship Program, where they held multiple roles. As the Pitt Makerspace Leadership - Program Manager, Zeve guided and trained students on the safe utilization of digital fabrication machinery and advised them on design and manufacturing processes. They also served as a Pitt Makerspace Mentor, providing comprehensive training and advising students on design and manufacturing processes for maximum efficiency. Additionally, Zeve completed a Product Design Internship, engineering and prototyping products using digital fabrication to assist with COVID-19 prevention efforts.

In 2021, Zeve worked as an Engineering Intern at Conturo Prototyping, LLC, programming and operating CNC mills to manufacture components for robotics and aerospace companies, while maintaining strict tolerances and ensuring workplace safety.

Currently, Zeve is employed as a CAD Designer at Meow Wolf, where they contribute their CAD skills to the design process.

Overall, Zeve's work experience showcases their expertise in CAD design, digital fabrication, project management, and collaborative problem-solving.

Zeve Cohen pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh from 2017 to 2021. In 2019, Zeve also attended UNSW for a brief period as part of their Bachelor of Science program in Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, Zeve obtained certifications such as "Introduction to Mill and Lathe Operation" from LinkedIn in March 2021, and completed courses in "Innovation, Product Design, and Entrepreneurship" and "Simulations In Design" at the University of Pittsburgh.
