Matt Wilkin

Matt Wilkin is a highly experienced professional in the field of vehicle dynamics, currently serving as the Head of the Tyre Group and Principal Vehicle Dynamicist at the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team since January 2010. With a strong background in tyre performance analysis and thermomechanical modelling, Matt has developed critical tools for pre-event simulations and trackside feedback. Prior roles include Senior Tyre Engineer positions at Brawn GP and Honda Racing F1, where project management and performance analysis were central to team operations. Additional experience includes vehicle dynamicist roles at Red Bull Racing and foundational work in vehicle dynamics during studies at the University of Leeds, culminating in a PhD in the same field.
