Leona Carruth

Leona Carruth is a Laboratory Supervisor at Merck Group, leading the UK Molecular Biology Team since April 2016. In this role, Leona oversees Sanger Sequencing based assays, including custom assays and cell line identification, and manages the Blazar™ rapid molecular detection platform. Previous positions at Merck include Scientist II, Scientist, and various associate scientist roles, all focused on sequencing-based assays. Prior to Merck, Leona worked as a General Assistant at Sainsbury's and gained research experience as a Summer Research Intern at the University of Glasgow. Leona holds a Master of Research in Biomedical Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Genetics from the University of Glasgow.
