Omar Baldonado is the Director of DC Networking at Meta, a position held since November 2021 after over 8.5 years at Facebook. Baldonado co-led the OCP Networking Project from August 2014 to August 2022 with the Open Compute Project, contributing to open-source concepts in the hardware industry. Previous roles include Director of Engineering for Network Infrastructure at Facebook and Head of Product Management at Big Switch Networks, where key contributions were made to Software-Defined Networking. As a founder of a social startup, Baldonado promoted social commerce for small businesses, while prior experience includes leadership positions at Avaya, Routescience Technologies, Cisco Systems, NETSYS Technologies, and Make Systems. Baldonado holds a BS and MS in Computer Science from Stanford University.
