Vivek Trehan is an accomplished engineering leader with a diverse background in software development and engineering management across prominent technology companies. Currently serving as Director of Engineering at Meta since October 2022, Vivek focuses on enhancing user engagement on Facebook through innovative Generative AI and machine learning products. Prior experience includes directing engineering efforts at Twitter to improve public conversation quality and managing the Marketplace team at Uber, which optimized real-time marketplace operations. Vivek’s early career involved significant contributions at Apple Inc. on iOS features, as well as innovative projects at startups and internships that highlight expertise in software engineering and performance-oriented design. Vivek holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
