Lénaïg Défachelles

Lénaïg Défachelles is a Senior Scientist at Metagenomi, with extensive experience in gene editing and molecular biology. Previously, Lénaïg led a team at Spotlight Therapeutics, where significant advancements in an in vivo gene editing platform were achieved, along with optimization of cell-based assays that improved efficiency and throughput. Prior roles include serving as the CRISPR Core Director at the University of California, Santa Cruz, providing expert guidance in CRISPR technologies, and conducting postdoctoral research focused on spindle checkpoint regulation and DNA repair mechanisms. Lénaïg holds a PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology from Université Paris Cité, complemented by a strong academic background and a history of mentoring and collaborating within research teams.
