Yongyi Zhao

Yongyi Zhao is a Computer Vision Engineer at Metalenz, beginning in February 2024, with prior experience as a Graduate Researcher in the Rice Computational Imaging Group from August 2018 to February 2024, focusing on imaging systems for scattering media. Yongyi's background includes a Research Internship at Samsung Research America in 2023, teaching assistance roles at Carnegie Mellon University during multiple semesters, and experiences as a Resident Assistant in a student residence hall. Additional internships in software development at Amazon Web Services and Schrödinger supplemented Yongyi's technical skills. Yongyi holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rice University and a Bachelor's degree in the same field from Carnegie Mellon University.
