Maria Khazanov

Maria Khazanov has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Maria is currently serving as the Director of Legal Services at Metrolinx. Prior to that, they worked for the City of Toronto for over a decade as a Solicitor, specializing in the acquisition and expropriation of real property for major transit infrastructure projects for Metrolinx. Maria was involved in projects such as the Eglinton-Crosstown LRT, the Finch West LRT, and the Scarborough Subway Extension, among others. Before joining the City of Toronto, Maria worked as a Legal Counsel for the City of Brampton and as an Associate Lawyer at Davies Howe Partners. Maria began their legal career as an Articling Student at the City of Toronto.

Maria Khazanov completed their education with an Hon. B.A. degree in Urban and Economic Geography from the University of Toronto. Later, they pursued a J.D. degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. In 2009, Maria earned a Master's Certificate in Municipal Leadership from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
