Leon Wessels currently serves as the Deputy National Chief Digital Officer at the Ministry of Digital Transformation since October 2022, where responsibilities include formulating strategies and initiatives to enhance citizen and business participation in national digital goals, while ensuring adherence to digital security protocols. Prior to this role, Leon held the position of Senior Manager Digital Security and Technology, focusing on the development of a Digital Security Roadmap that protects government digital assets. Between 2016 and December 2022, Leon worked as IT Security Manager at Telecommunications Services of Trinidad & Tobago Limited, where a comprehensive security program was implemented, significantly reducing security incidents through a targeted training initiative. Leon holds a Bachelor of Science in Computing and Information Systems from London Metropolitan University and a Diploma in Telecommunications Management Studies from the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation.
