Paul Butler

Paul Butler is a seasoned professional in the technology sector with a diverse background in software engineering and quantitative analysis. Currently serving as a Member of Technical Staff at Modal since June 2025, Paul previously founded Jamsocket, where the focus was on enhancing browser-based tools through server infrastructure from October 2021 to August 2025. Prior experience includes working as a Quantitative Analyst at Two Sigma from October 2016 to May 2021 and as a Software Engineer on the search team at Google between October 2014 and October 2016. Paul Butler holds a Bachelor of Math degree in Math and Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, completed in June 2011.
